Beautifully wrapped natural hand and body soap. About Us I use a cold-process to make small batches (12 bars) of hand and body soap. Each bar is then individually wrapped and labeled. My soap making and business is evolving...and I hope it always will. I use soap as a medium, both a creative expression and a means through which to explore concepts that are important to me. I have a lot to say about, but I'll include just a bit of it here, so you get a little idea of what it's all about. For example, over the past few years, I've become more and more aware of the importance of buying locally. One of my favorite and most popular soaps is Honey Tangerine. I get the wax and honey from my friend Shawn who keeps bees in Leominster; I provide him and his family with soap in exchange. Each label is hand-stamped. When I started labeling the soap this way, the handstamping seemed like a good thing to do to assuage my guilt while watching TV. Now, with an infant at home, the handstamping has become meditative to me...a time when I'm not doing anything else and I can just let my mind wander. I occasionally get well-intentioned advice about how I could make the labels on the computer using a font that looks just like the stamping, but it'd be a whole lot faster. The packaging IS time consuming but it serves as a reminder of how things are packaged. I don't want to minimize packaging that is then thrown away, but have the packing be something that is kept. On the front of each label is the name of the soap, that has the scent and sometimes another ingredient like oatmeal or dulse. On the back is a little message or word, such as You Are Loved or Pleasure. You can stick this in your wallet or use it as a bookmark or hide in a sock drawer. Browse through our Products for Sale Ingredients Most of my soap is made with a base of olive, coconut and palm oils. I have a couple other recipes that include avocado, almond, sunflower or jojoba oil. Some have honey and beeswax, shea butter, cocoa butter, or oatmeal. All are scented with natural essential oils (not fragrance oils.) When possible, I buy organic oils and more and more I'm trying to incorporate ingredients that I grow myself or get locally from people I know...or will get to know :) I haven't yet been able to find paper that is made locally that isn't prohibitively expensive. But I allow myself the pleasure of the paper as I started out as a bookmaker and I love love love paper! Hopefully, some where in my near future, I will start making my own. Additional Information I love a good challenge, so if there is something that you'd like in regards to ingredients or wrapping, let me know and I'll see what we can do.
